Reported by Abbotsford News, Abbotsford City Council just approved the largest development there in a decade.
The Vicarro Ranch proposal will rezone 383 acres of land on Sumas Mountain.
According to the Council Report:
A total combined maximum potential density of 1,400 principal residential units is permitted through the proposed zoning and of the unit types proposed, a total of 580 are single-family, 120 are duplexes, 260 are townhouses and 260 are apartment units. In addition to residential and commercial development, large tracks of natural open space, three neighbourhood parks and a series of connecting pedestrian trail systems will be realized in conjunction with the development of the lands.
